Profile Brief

Job Title: Omnichannel Lead - Mothercare

 

Role: The Omnichannel Lead will spearhead the online businesses of Mothercare across own website (mothercare.in), as well as market places (Ajio, Tata Cliq, Amazon, FirstCry and others). The incumbent will be responsible for non-linear scaling up of the top-line while managing the bottom line, directly controlling marketing spends and merchandising while influencing influencing key decisions such as pricing and technology.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scaling up the omnichannel business
    • Creating and executing the appropriate strategy for profitable growth
    • Setting and achieving top-line and bottom-line targets for the business
    • Owning the merchandising plan and cataloguing activities for the brand across all digital channels
    • Recommending & influencing the pricing & promotions for the brand across channels, and executing the pricing and promotion changes
    • Planning & executing marketing campaigns – primarily for mothercare.in, but also co-ordinating with marketing places to align campaigns across these channels as well
    • Planning & executing, through our marketing agency, the requisite performance marketing campaigns aimed at optimising ROAS at scale
    • Identifying new channels and opportunities for growth
  • Managing the bottom-line
    • Ensuring that pricing & promotion plans allow for a balance of margin protection while allowing scale without diluting the brand
    • Monitor and control the key levers of Marketing Cost (against ROAS), packaging costs, returns & shrinkages
  • Analytics & Reporting
    • Review and present business & operational performance, keeping track of outcomes against KPI targets
    • Analyse business metrics, channel performance and customer experience data
    • Track competition performance and developments, and recommend / execute counter-strategies accordingly
  • Operational Efficiency
    • Identify UI / CX improvement opportunities and co-ordinate with technical / operational teams to
    • Monitor key operational metrics across cataloguing, merchandising, pricing, order fulfilment, returns management & cost management.

Desired Functional Skills

  • Analytics: Should be well versed in Google Analytics, as well as in MS Excel. Should be able to distil data and derive actionable insights - particularly from online click-stream data.
    • Working knowledge of Google Adwords & Facebook Advertising Panel will be preferred
  • Customer Experience design : ability to identify obstacles in customer journey – from a communication, technology as well as process perspective – and to identify ways of overcoming such obstacles through appropriate solution design

Education & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in retail (or related) industry
  • Minimum 4 years managing different aspects of ecommerce
  • Exposure on online merchandising for at least 2 years
  • Preferred Industries : Preferred experience in brick-and-mortar retailer that has implemented omnichannel for more than 3 years, or from pure-play online retailers.
